Bertrand Tremblay was born in Les Éboulements, Charlevoix. He studied in Fine Arts at Laval University. He participated at the first '' Symposium des Arts de Baie St-Paul '' in 1982. In 1989, the city of Charlesbourg awards him first prize in acquirering one of his canvases.
Public and private colletionners own his paintings.

Subject matter and movement are essential to Bertrand's painting. The raw energy released by his spatula arranged in mosaics, swirls and colourfully rhythmic movements are easily balanced by the unusual austerity of the themes.
